Family reunion visa Experience

Getting all the German visa is easy if you have proper documents. Otherwise its going to be very very difficult.

My case:

My husband had joined new job when I was planning to apply for German Family reunion visa after completing his higher studies in Germany.

In this blog I am going to cover about Pay slip and Marriage verification document for German Family reunion Visa

Pay slip:

In the checklist of Family reunion visa for proof of Income they would have asked to submit valid employment contract and salary slips of the last three months of the spouse living in Germany.

When we search for German family reunion visa in the website like Trust7 etc. you would have studied somewhere that you can apply for Family reunion visa with your Husband First month Pay slip that’s enough. Yes, you can submit your application with first month pay slip the officer will accept it. I too have done the same. But what happen to me was.

My husband had joined work during august 2017. So I have to wait until September First week to get my Husband first month pay slip.  Once after I got the pay slip I prepared the other entire document and then I applied for German Family reunion visa during mid October. The officer accepted my application with my husband First month pay slip. But what happen next was, my husband din get any verification mail till November end. It’s already going to be more than one and half month (6 weeks) since we applied. During first week of November my husband called to local Ausländerbehörde(Foreigners office) and asked about my application they said “yes we have received your application and we will call you only if we need any document“. During last week of November my husband got a mail from local Ausländerbehörde(Foreigners office) asking to submit following list of Documents for verification:

1. Pay slip of October and November month

2. Proof of marital status from the Bürgerbüro.

After seeing this mail what we thought was “we did not get any mail these many days because they want us to submit all the three months’ pay slip”. I don’t know whether this was the reason or any other reason. But this is what I thought. He got his third month pay slip during December first week and he submitted that.

Marriage verification:

The second thing in the list is proof of marital status from Civil Bureau

There are four Bürgerbüro in the place where my husband is living.

He went to one of the four Bürgerbüro and requested for this letter.

Important Note: If you don’t know German languages then please do not go to any German government office alone. Along with you take one of your German colleague.

When my husband went and asked for this letter the officer over there asked my husband to show our original marriage certificate. My husband don have the original marriage certificate in Germany. So he asked us to send the attested copy of our marriage certificate along with original one. We sent the document through DHL express courier from India. It took two days to reach Germany. Once after he received the courier he again went to Bürgerbüro and showed our original marriage certificate to the officer, seeing that he asked to bring the translated copy of our marriage certificate. If we don’t know German language we can’t ask further question to them. It’s very very difficult to speak to those officers. Then my husband submitted our original marriage certificate to the translator in the local place paying 150 Euro. My husband got the translated copy after 2 days (21-12-2017). Again he went to Bürgerbüro there they said we need to legalize our marriage certificate. For which my husband had to go to Berlin. After hearing this we really felt very sad. In his work he had tight schedule also the Christmas leave is going to start. We really felt frustrated. Suddenly my husband got second thought and went to another Bürgerbüro in the same place. The officer in that Bürgerbüro spoke in English. It was pleasure to see an officer speaking in English. My husband explained everything to that officer then he asked few questions to my husband and gave us the letter with the following statement:

It means:

 “Change of marital status auditioned the change of marital status in the register of migrants could not for the following reason successes: The necessary legalization was discontinued by the German representation an examination would only be possible by way of mutual assistance. As a rule, we change the marital status after the entry due to the German diplomatic mission issued a family reunification visa”

Then my husband submitted this letter to the Ausländerbehörde(Foreigners office) lady officer who is in charge in handling our file. There they said they will forward all the documents to the German consulate in Chennai they have to take further decision. The next day the Christmas leave has started. After 1 week again my husband went to Ausländerbehörde(Foreigners office) to check the status. Another officer over there said to my husband that the lady handling our file is on leave she will come on next Monday. So we waited until next Monday and again my husband went to enquire about the status the person over there said the same that she is on leave. In between my husband called to German consulate in Chennai and explained the situation. In Chennai consulate they said us“to ask the in charge officer in Ausländerbehörde(Foreigners office) to send them mail that German consulate chennai need to do further check”. Suddenly the next day my husband got the mail from the Ausländerbehörde(Foreigners office) lady officer stating:

Then I got a mail from Chennai German consulate on 16 Jan 2018 for marriage verification:

The below letter was enclosed in that mail:

For marriage verification I was asked to pay Rs.25, 000. This is still a question in my mind why Rs.25, 000 approximately 330 Euro? I called to Chennai German consulate and asked why Rs.25, 000?. For that they told for verification you have to pay that amount. Further we can’t ask anything.

For marriage verification i have to wait for another 3 months. It’s been already 4 months. Still I am waiting.

I have seen many people applying for family reunion visa for some people marriage verification is not required but for some people marriage verification check must be done. This is because in Germany state to state law differs. This is my understanding.
